I've known quite a few epic stories in my time - Indochine being the most notable - but this movie was just so beautiful. Ralph Fiennes and Rachael Weisz made me believe you can fall in love all over again, but then the movie itself reminds you that love in this world may not be all that advisable anyway.
The difficulty with films like this, is it leaves you wanting to check the facts, wanting to assure yourself that the world isn't really like that. But I imagine it is, and that is the strength of this film, not its weakness.
