It is difficult to believe that in just over 40 days, it will all be over. Of course, we were in a similar position four years ago, thinking that the world of Harry Potter would come to an end on 21 July 2007 and, of course, it didn’t. The magic of Harry Potter just goes on and on. I loved all of the books, adored Stephen Fry reading the audiobooks and loved all of the films except for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I have high expectations for the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, due out on 15 July 2011 in the UK and USA.
Of course, I feel very sorry for anyone who hasn’t read the books. We went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I twice last year because my husband didn’t really have a clue what was going on the first time we saw it. He is normally a very intelligent chap so I assume he wasn’t the only person that felt lost and confused. Nevertheless, for a fan, I thought Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I was tremendous and I’m really looking forward Part II. They have released 8 stunning character posters for the film. I love the tagline: It All Ends. Of course, we all know that it doesn’t end (not really a spoiler) and there are persistent rumours that J K Rowling missed the Harry Potter universe and continued writing stories set in that world. We can only live in hope.

Your comment about not reading the books reminds me how I became a huge fan. Previously, I just didn't get the whole Harry Potter thing. That is until my son (much younger then) began reading to us in the car during a long road trip vacation. After about oh, 3 pages, my wife, daughter and I were hooked.
The bonus benefit was that our son became our filter for learning. For example, since he had read the current books at that time previously, he would clarify or indicate "we don't know that yet." The bonus-bonus was that we "encouraged" him to read at every opportunity so he got plenty of practice reading aloud.
