Nominations for the 55th annual Ivor Novello awards were announced today. Introduced in 1955, the awards recognise achievements for songwriting and composing and are presented by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA). The awards will take place in Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on Thursday 20 May 2010.

I certainly wouldn't have expected "Bonkers" in there! Not one I would have even thought of been in these awards, but there are a good selection of tracks and artists listed, it will be really interesting to see who the winners turn out to be ;)
ReplyDeleteHi kKaren! Yeah, it seems that Dizzee Rascal can do no worng in the eyes of the UK listening public these days and their fascination with Lily Allen continues. Personally, I ma just happy that Red Riding 1974 was nominated. I reviewed it a week or so ago and it is one of the best scores I have heard.
